Clay Studio Time
Are you an artist looking for space to play and create? Please inquire about fees and schedules for studio workspace rentals. Studio space available for ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking, and woodwork. Come check out the facility!
Clay Studio Time is $200 for 28 Days.
To clarify, it is not 28 times of studio use. For ex: payment is made on the 15th and ends the 28th day after receipt of payment.
The $200 Includes the Following:
1) 6,000 Cubic Inches of Firing Space (firing refers to bisque firing, glaze firing)
2) Use of Wheels/Studio Space during Operating Hours (Monday - Saturday 9 AM to 9 PM, Sunday 10 PM to 4 PM).
Wheels are first come first serve. We have 2 “rooms” where wheels are located. Pottery wheels located near the front entrance are reserved for class time (times are found on the schedule). All open wheels outside of class time are free to use for studio time on a first come first serve basis. Want to know when classes are taking place? Refer to our schedule at a glance.
3) Use of our Cone 10 Dipping Glazes - (Note: Stroke n Coats and underglazes are for student use only)
Further Guidelines
1) Independent Studio Users Do Not Have Their Own Shelves.
Please be mindful about the use of shelf space as you get into the groove of making pottery in our studio. You’ll be sharing shelf space with other students and other studio members.
2) We do not have a mandatory 3 month use of studio time as many places do, so if you’re doing only one month (28 days) of studio time, please space out the making of your work to account for drying time, firing time (both bisque and glaze firings), so that you are not using studio wheels past the end of your studio time.
3) Anything that is put on the shelf to be bisque or glaze fired before or on the day your studio time ends will be fired.
4) Clay/Ceramics Studio Members fill out tags for each item they put on our green ware shelf and our glaze shelf. Please measure pieces accordingly.
5) One bag of clay stored at the studio only. Additional bags must be stored elsewhere (like in the trunk in your car).
6) If your studio time ends and you have remaining bisque ware that hasn’t been glazed and you are not continuing for the following months, they should be:
(a) Taken home and stored there, we’d love to see you back again for studio time.
(b) Glazed and fired for a separate fee. Please ask about our fees when the times comes for that.
We also ask that you please clean/sweep/wipe down any space you use. We appreciate any help to keep this place ready for you and others.
If you have any other questions or if any clarification is needed, please feel free to ask Yasuko. Cheers.
